Hickey’s goal keeps Islanders hot with win over Canucks

Thomas Hickey scored unassisted at 12:55 of the third period to give the Islanders a 3-2 victory over the Canucks on Tuesday night in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Hickey, who also had an assist, got the game-winner just two minutes after Daniel Sedin scored for Vancouver to knot the score at 2-2.

Thomas Greiss had 31 saves for the Islanders, who won for the fourth time in five games to improve to 34-20-7 (75 points) on the season.

Travis Hamonic scored in the first period for the Islanders. Anders Lee had a second-period goal that put the Islanders back on top after Linden Vey’s power play goal had tied the score midway through the first period for the Canucks.
