Fork it over: Islanders sign D prospect Wotherspoon to three-year ELC

Defenseman Parker Wotherspoon has had a busy couple of weeks.

Once his Tri-City Americans were eliminated from playoff contention, he signed an Amateur Try Out contract with Bridgeport and reported to the Islanders' AHL affiliate. He then played in six regular season games and two playoff games with the Sound Tigers. When they were eliminated in the first round by the Toronto Marlies, Wotherspoon was part of a Black Ace squadron called up to the big club.

And now, the kicker: Wotherspoon has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Islanders.
