DALLAS – NHL debuts are among the most memorable games in any player’s career and Islanders defenseman Devon Toews, 24, will have that chance on Sunday night against the Stars at American Airlines Center.
Defenseman Johnny Boychuk remained in New York after his wife, Sheena, gave birth to the couple’s third child and first son. Toews will start the game on the third pair with Luca Sbisa and was also assigned to the Islanders’ second power-play unit.
“It’s a little bit of a dream come true for every player who’s ever played in the NHL,” Islanders coach Barry Trotz said.
