At the end of the Islanders’ 2-1 loss Wednesday night in Game 4 of their first-round series at Barclays Center, longtime Islanders captain and four-time Stanley Cup champion Denis Potvin, a TV analyst with the Panthers for more than two decades, reportedly had beverages tossed down on him by at least one fan of his former team.
“Some moron Islander fan just threw some beer or soda down on us. Very classy, but that’s OK,” play-by-play man Steve Goldstein of Fox Sports Florida said on the air.
“It’s unbelievable,” Potvin added.
