The end of an NHL season always brings about the bittersweet sight of players shipping off to some far-flung locale to join their respective national teams at the annual IIHF World Championship tournament.
Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss is already on-board for Team Germany, and now his teammate Brock Nelson will suit up for the United States at the games being held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Nelson scored 26 goals for the Islanders this season, a career-high and the second best total on the team. He had one goal and four assists in 11 playoff games this Spring, although he seemed to be visibly struggling, especially during the team's second round series against Tampa Bay.
