Lou Lamoriello can’t predict when Andrew Ladd will return, nor would he specify the left wing’s injury. At the same time, the Islanders president and general manager does not believe the veteran Ladd’s absence will be a long-term one.
Ladd, 32, missed his 10th straight practice on Thursday, though he has skated sporadically on his own, and almost certainly will not be ready for the season opener on Oct. 4 as he enters the third season of a seven-year, $38.5-million deal that looks increasingly worse for the organization.
“There’s no update other than it’s day to day,” Lamoriello said.
