It makes plenty of sense given Big Blue’s long list of injuries in 2017. The New York Giants lost key players on both sides of the ball, including Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, Janoris Jenkins, Weston Richburg, and Justin Pugh.
Pugh and Richburg have since signed elsewhere this offseason. The Giants have added two new Hog Mollies in Solder and Patrick Omameh.
General manager Dave Gettleman has already added defensive depth to the roster this offseason, signing cornerbacks Curtis Riley and Teddy Williams. He has also inked defensive back B.W. Webb to a one-year deal, the team announced Monday.
