Marshall Koehn was driving in a van delivering carpeting and tile in Iowa on Monday morning when he took a quick break and checked his phone. Two missed calls from his mom. Two missed calls from his dad. Two missed calls from his agent.
“Everyone was freaking out,” he said.
He knew something was up.
That something wound up being a call from the Giants, the team with which he spent a good deal of the offseason and preseason, asking him to return as a practice-squad player after their kicker, Aldrick Rosas, suffered a quad injury in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.
