Will Hernandez was the New York Giants’ second-round pick in 2018 out of UTEP. Ostensibly, Hernandez regressed in his second NFL season, after a promising rookie year. Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that Hernandez had a sophomore slump in 2019, but there were many variables that led to that decline.
The offensive line, more so than any other football detachment, is truly one unit. If there are any weak links, instruction errors, or fluid changes, then the unit as a whole can struggle. Former offensive line coach Hal Hunter didn’t do the offensive line any favors in 2019, and Hernandez wasn’t immersed in the best situation.
