The longest pass plays for the Giants this season have come on throws that left Eli Manning’s right hand and traveled a short distance in the air — Odell Beckham Jr.’s 67-yard touchdown and Rashad Jennings’ 51-yard scoring play on a screen both featured far more yards after the catch than before it.
One of Manning’s strengths as a passer is his long-distance accuracy, but that has yet to surface this season. The Giants have not thrown the ball down the field much, and when they have the results have not been there. They are hoping that changes Sunday night against a 49ers secondary that gives up big plays.
