EAST RUTHERFORD — Steve Spagnuolo enjoyed a career revitalization in 2016.
Now what comes next?
The Giants' defensive coordinator shook off a run of years leading some of the league's worst-ever units (literally) and molded last year's free agent-built (and Landon Collins-fueled) defense that transformed from the NFL's worst to one of its best, getting the Giants back to the playoffs in the process.
With starters returning at nine of 11 defensive positions, expectations are already sky-high for this year's Giants defense. Spagnuolo didn't discuss those much Friday when he spoke to the media for the first time during the preseason, but he did touch on the players who will be needed for the Giants to reach those heights again.
