The Carolina Panthers released a pair of defensive backs — safety Mike Adams and slot cornerback Captain Munnerlyn — earlier this week. Adams will be 38 next season and while GM Dave Gettleman says he doesn’t look at age, that’s a bit long in the tooth for a safety.
