UNION — By the time of Peyton Manning's age-37 season, a serious neck injury had ended his streak of 208 consecutive starts by sidelining him for all of 2011 and forced him to start over with a new team.
All the five-time MVP Manning did to best adversity in 2013 was set career highs for passing completions, yards and touchdowns, and enjoy maybe the greatest statistical season ever by a NFL quarterback.
So, as Giants quarterback Eli Manning enters his age-37 season with his own set of doubters and critics after going 3-12 as a starter for an injury-depleted team in 2017, he is reminded of what he learned watching the end of his older brother's Hall of Fame career.
