It is far from revelatory to suggest the Giants do not have enough to become the first team this season to take down the Patriots. Books can be written, songs sung and sonnets recited in praise of the New England football machine. There’s been plenty of bandwidth reserved for chronicling the deficiencies in the Giants, spinning Sunday’s meeting as less than a fair fight.
Given the strength assembled on one side — the Pats’ ever-changing, relentless offense — and the flaws inherent in the other — the Giants’ talent-starved defense — this game can be seen more as a chore than a challenge.
