ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Two teams practiced for nearly three hours in the hot and bright sunshine Tuesday morning. There was nothing close to resembling a fight or an altercation or even an overheated moment as the Giants and Lions staged a joint practice.

“The coaches set the tone and the players follow,” Giants tight end Rhett Ellison said.

Clearly, Giants coach Pat Shurmur and Lions coach Matt Patricia stressed a no-nonsense approach and their players listened.
