We are embarking on a portion of the Giants season that bears particular watching, given the franchise’s history under the watch of coach Tom Coughlin.
It has to do with handling prosperity.
Panic from the 0-2 start has abated. So has the doomsayer talk of the Giants spiraling to a fourth consecutive year out of the playoffs. So has the speculation about this year being it for Coughlin after 12 seasons and two Super Bowl titles.
For now, that is.
Three consecutive wins have the 3-2 Giants perched in sole possession of first place in the NFC East — a division where most preseason prognosticators had them finishing third or fourth behind Dallas, Philadelphia and even lowly Washington.
