Giants coach Ben McAdoo was very direct in his criticism of quarterback Eli Manning's delay of game penalty in Monday's 24-10 loss to the Lions. McAdoo was far less critical when explaining his own head-scratching clock management blunder.
Lions wide receiver Golden Tate was tackled two yards short of the first-down marker at the Giants' 38-yard line with 1:15 remaining in the first half. The Giants, who trailed 14-7, had all three timeouts remaining.
The Lions offense left the field with approximately 1:05 remaining, as they may have briefly considered going for it on fourth-and-2.
