Why bad weather could wreak havoc on Giants’ kicking game

The weather is expected to turn harsh in time for Sunday’s 1 p.m. kickoff against the Bears, with wind gusts projected as high as 40 mph at MetLife Stadium.

Giants coach Ben McAdoo shrugged off the prospect of a wind-blown game when asked Friday.

“Yes, we look at the weather,” McAdoo said. “Does that change anything? Both teams have to play in it. We’ll be ready for it.”

If the winds turn out to be as strong as projected, it will no doubt factor into the Giants’ plans for kicker Robbie Gould. The former Bear hasn’t attempted a field goal in the past two games, and Gould would be unlikely to do so again Sunday in that case.
