The free-agent tidal wave created by the Giants this offseason was barely felt at linebacker. They signed former Redskin middle linebacker Keenan Robinson to a low-risk one-year deal and re-signed Jasper Brinkley to a one-year deal. Both were second wave cross-your-finger-type moves. Neither dramatically change the outlook of a linebacking corps that has been questioned for several years.
A position group that greatly contributed to the Giants finishing as the league's worst defense has only been marginally upgraded. They allowed more yards to opposing tight ends (1,303) than any team in the NFL.
