TAMPA, Fla. -- New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is officially active and will make his 2015 season debut Sunday against the Buccaneers. It will be Pierre-Paul's first appearance in a game since he severely injured his right hand in a July 4 fireworks accident. And while he's dazzled teammates and coaches in practice, don't expect the Giants to throw him right in there and expect every-down production at defensive end.
Based on what I've been able to gather in the past few days about the Giants' plans, they intend to use him for about 20 plays, and it's possible they will hold him out of the game early so they can deploy him in fourth-quarter pass-rush situations.
