EAST RUTHERFORD -- Giants guard John Jerry is as flabbergasted as everyone else about his penalty late in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Eagles.
Jerry was called for a delay of game penalty for grabbing Elijah Qualls as the Eagles defensive tackle tried to get off the field before the Giants snapped the ball on a third down with just over three minutes remaining in the game.
Giants coach Ben McAdoo said he had never seen that penalty before. McAdoo isn't alone.
"First time I've ever been called for something like that," said Jerry, an eighth-year veteran.
