If past success and proven track record is what the Giants are looking for, their interview Friday with Mike McCarthy will lead fairly quickly to a job offer making him the 19th head coach in franchise history.
McCarthy, 56, won more than 61 percent of his games in 13 years with the Packers and his regular-season record of 125-77-2 is sparkling when compared with, well, anyone. He won a Super Bowl and took the Packers to four NFC title games. He made it into the playoffs eight consecutive years. Heck, there is a street named after him in Green Bay, right near Lambeau Field, across the way from the practice field named after Ray Nitschke.
