Giants captain Alec Ogletree donated 1,000 turkeys Tuesday to his home community of Newnan, Ga. but couldn't be on hand to help pass them out.
Ogletree's football commitments kept him in New Jersey but didn't stop the linebacker acquired in the offseason from passing out turkeys elsewhere on his team's weekly off day, two days before Thanksgiving.
Ogletree, whose annual Georgia turkey drive started five years ago, and Giants teammates Evan Engram, Scott Simonson and Bennie Fowler pitched in to unload 1,500 turkeys donated by Stop & Shop from an 18-wheeler at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside.
