HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Steve Spagnuolo's work as the architect of the Giants' Super Bowl XLII-winning defense in 2007 was starting to fade from memory.
After elevating his profile with an outstanding two-year stretch as the defensive coordinator of the Giants from 2007-08, Spagnuolo's stock plummeted. He went 10-38 in three seasons as the head coach of the Rams and then oversaw the worst defense in the NFL in his one season as the Saints' defensive coordinator in 2012.
After getting back on his feet as an assistant with the Ravens for two years, Spagnuolo came back to the Giants in 2015.
