It’s only mid-October, but Mike Zimmer already looks like a lock for the NFL’s Coach of the Year award.
Zimmer’s Vikings are 5-0 and the new leader of The Post’s NFL Power Rankings after another dominant performance Sunday in which they shrugged off more key injuries in a 31-13 rout of the Texans.
Despite missing leading receiver Stefon Diggs due to a groin injury, the Vikings kept rolling under Zimmer, reborn quarterback Sam Bradford and a ridiculously stingy defense that has helped them compile a plus-12 turnover margin through five weeks.
Minnesota has a bye this week, and it will be tested coming out of that break by three road games in the following four weeks, starting with a trip to Philadelphia.
