Victor Cruz on his late-night crisis and keeping the faith

Willing to try anything and everything to get past his nagging left calf injury, Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz received a platelet-rich plasma injection Thursday at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

But Cruz – who hasn’t played since tearing his patellar tendon in Week 6 last year, and hasn’t made it through a full practice since hurting his calf Aug. 17 – is desperate to get back as quickly as possible. He will stay behind when the Giants travel for Sunday’s game in Buffalo, and will be re-evaluated Monday by team doctors.
