Victor Cruz hated the Cowboys long before he became a Giant

It was different for Victor Cruz than it was for Harry Carson. Carson came from South Carolina and ran smack into Tom Landry teams that won a Super Bowl in his second season and an NFC Championship a year later.

“The No. 1 thing you do as a Giants fan,” Carson said once, “is hate the Cowboys. With Giants’ fans, they have an invisible tattoo put on their rear ends when they’re born that says, ‘I hate Dallas.’ ’’

Cruz grew up a Cowboys fan in Paterson, N.J.

“My dad, man, he was a Cowboy fan, he instilled that in me from a young age,” Cruz said.
