Victor Cruz gets plasma injection

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Victor Cruz acknowledged that he suffered a setback in recovering from his strained left calf this week and the Giants receiver said he had a platelet-rich plasma therapy injection into it Thursday.

And though PRP therapy generally takes weeks to work, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said the team has no plans to put Cruz on injured reserve and Cruz himself said he fully expects to return to action eventually, even if he can't say when that might be.

"I haven't lost faith,'' said Cruz, who originally strained the calf in August, most likely as a result of overcompensating for the right knee injury that ended his 2014 season prematurely.
