Age and injuries began to creep into the Giants’ offensive line during the 2012 season and before long the whole thing collapsed. Ever since, it seemed, the Giants made rebuilding that line their No. 1 priority.
So how is it that three years later, one week into camp, their line is a mess again?
It is still a rebuilding project, all right, with new players projected to start at all five positions, and once again their “depth” looking dangerously shallow. But this was supposed to be the year when the project was completed. In this “win or else” season, the last thing the Giants need is Eli Manning running for his life.
