Odell Beckham has a sore hamstring, and it would be very easy to panic about that, especially since the exact same thing happened at almost the same time last year and it delayed his debut until October. But there is no need to panic — at least not yet.
There’s also absolutely no reason for the Giants to rush him back onto the field.
That’s why the smart play for the Giants would be to put their prized superstar in figurative bubble wrap and sit him out of their mandatory mini-camp this week. Whatever little bit he could gain by participating in three light, non-contact practices isn’t worth the risk to one of the Giants’ most indispensable players.
