The last time Mike Sullivan was here was the pinnacle of the Eli Manning Era. He was the quarterbacks coach for Manning’s “elite” season when he threw for nearly 5,000 yards and carried a flawed Giants team to their second Super Bowl championship in four years.
That version of Manning was absolutely spectacular. And he was at his best down the stretch when, during the playoff-clinching finale and the four-game run to the title, he averaged 313 passing yards per game and threw 12 touchdown with just one interception. He was easily one of the Top 5 quarterbacks in football that season.
