Vacchiano: Giants pick bad time to play worst game of season

PHILADELPHIA - The Giants had a chance to prove on Sunday night that they had become the team to beat in the NFC East. Instead they played like a team that didn't belong in the race at all.

That's the shame of the opportunity they threw away in their hideous, 27-7 loss to the Eagles. And "threw away" is exactly the right way to describe it. They took control of the game at the start, and had ample opportunity keep it. But they handed the Eagles the game by playing one of their dumbest, most mistake-filled games of the year.
