Stevie Brown’s return was hailed as a move that could help bail out the Giants’ beleaguered safety corps. Never mind that six months ago the Giants didn’t really want him, and let him go to Houston without much of a fight, or that he was then released because he had no chance to make the Texans’ roster.
To put it another way: Yesterday’s trash is today’s treasure because circumstances have changed. But that’s the state of desperation the Giants are in at a position they needlessly neglected throughout most of the offseason, only to see things get worse over the summer when the (predictable) injuries hit.
