Tyrod Taylor will replace Tommy DeVito as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants this Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Brian Daboll made that announcement Wednesday morning.
Taylor, a 34-year-old 13-year veteran, replaced DeVito at the beginning of the third quarter in Sunday’s 33-25 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants trailed, 20-3, at the half.
Taylor completed 7 of 16 passes for 133 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown to Darius Slayton, and an interception. DeVito had completed 9 of 16 for just 55 yards.
Daboll said that Taylor “earned the right to start this game” with his play against the Eagles.
