One day after ex-Giants safety Tyler Sash was found dead at age 27 in his Iowa home, Giants coach Tom Coughlin opened his Wednesday press conference by expressing his shock over that situation.
"I'm dumbfounded by this, and I'm very sad," he said.
Coughlin said he learned of Sash's death when he received a text from a player Tuesday afternoon.
"I didn't see this coming, obviously," he said. "I know a lot of our other players have responded. It's very sad. Most difficult to try and understand. But nevertheless, our condolences go out to his family and his friends, and all those that cared for him.
