So this, it seems, is how it ends for Tom Coughlin.
The Giants lost to the Eagles, 35-30, at MetLife Stadium on Sunday in what was not yet officially but certainly felt a lot like an unceremonious send-off for the head coach of the past 12 seasons.
Coughlin made calls this week requesting that members of his extended family attend the game and they — including all 11 of his grandchildren — were buzzing around the field during pregame action wearing sweatshirts with the words “Cough lin Crew” on them. Coughlin is expected to meet with team ownership including John Mara and Steve Tisch on Monday to discuss his future, which seems more and more like it could end with the 69-year-old resigning to spare the franchise the agony of firing a two-time Super Bowl winner who is second all-time in tenure and wins among head coaches in team history.
