A defiant Tom Coughlin did his best to deflect attention off his tenuous coaching future on Wednesday, as he began preparing his Giants to face the Philadelphia Eagles in what could very well be his final game.
Coughlin said he had not spoken to John Mara about his future with the Giants, and said he'd told players not to focus on that. He added that he did "appreciate" what he had heard and read from players in the media, defending his coaching and lobbying to see him return despite a third straight losing season.
"But that's not where I want them focused this week," he said.
