Tom Coughlin on Jason Pierre-Paul: 'Nothing's changed'

The flurry of activity and emotion that came with the sudden arrival and then quick departure of Jason Pierre-Paul earlier this week yielded two words from Tom Coughlin that summed up the situation.

"Nothing's changed," he said about the team's approach to their injured franchise tag designee.

In the sense that the Giants are playing football and Pierre-Paul is not among them, that's true. The Giants' medical staff did get a chance to evaluate his hand injuries and the coaches got to meet with Pierre-Paul for the first time since the July 4 fireworks mishap.

"He was in an outstanding frame of mind, was not ready to play, returned to South Florida," Coughlin said.
