Even after talking to Jason Pierre-Paul, coach Tom Coughlin still has no idea when the defensive end will rejoin the Giants.
Coughlin spoke to Pierre-Paul on Friday afternoon for the first time since the 26-year-old lost his right index finger in a July 4 fireworks accident. Coughlin said the two had a good conversation and the defensive end conveyed enthusiasm about returning to action, but the Giants coach still doesn’t know when that will be.
“Do I know anything more than I did before? No,” Coughlin said following Saturday’s practice. “Do I know when he’s coming? He’s looking forward to coming, he’s anxious to be here, [but] he’s not going to come until he feels like he’s ready to be able to play.
