Simply put, it’s time for the New York Giants to re-commit to the fullback position. Whether the issue still is pride, innovative coaching or player procurement, the time is now. The front office should simply swallow its pride and admit their mistake from last season. That mistake could have been listening to the coaching staff that said we don’t need one. Or it could ignoring the position altogether.
Where have we heard that before?
In fact, the coaching staff and front office as much admitted their mistake at the tight end position this year. Tight end Rhett Ellison was arguably the biggest free agent signing this offseason.
