ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The thought crossed John Greco's mind some time last fall: Had he played in his final NFL game?
Greco was released by the Browns after the preseason and still was a free agent when the desperate Giants called in mid-November. If the phone never rang, Greco could have entered retirement with fond memories, especially of ex-Browns coaches Pat Shurmur and Hal Hunter.
Now, suddenly, Greco, 33, is living deja vu under Shurmur and Hunter again with the Giants, who are on the road for three joint practices with the Lions this week.
