Like everyone else, Giants co-owner John Mara probably got a little caught up in Ben McAdoo's profile as an offensive guru.
McAdoo coached Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers into his prime.
He came to the Giants as a coordinator after Eli Manning threw a career-high 27 interceptions in 2013 — when Mara said Kevin Gilbride's offense was" broken" — and quickly got the quarterback returned to Pro Bowl form.
Simply put, McAdoo brought the Giants into the age of no huddles and using the three-step drop on short/intermediate passes in place of the run and the need for offensive linemen who can hold up longer in pass protection.
