The Giants inactivity in signing a safety may have disappointed fans. It also drew the attention of the players — one in particular.
Nat Berhe noticed as the team let veterans Antrel Rolle, Stevie Brown and Quintin Demps walk, and whiffed on top target Devin McCourty, while drafting Alabama star Landon Collins with the first pick of the second round. It opened up a spot for the second-year pro out of San Diego State who the Giants drafted in the fifth round last year.
“You’re here for a reason and you just got to believe it,” he said before the opening practice of training camp.
