It just so happens that a backup quarterback became available on Tuesday as the Cleveland Browns cut Josh McCown.
Some may feel the New York Giants should draft a young quarterback to be the successor to Eli Manning instead of acquiring a serviceable backup. But without a fourth-round draft pick this year due to Ben McAdoo’s walkie-talkie incident, Big Blue needs to focus their early in mid round picks on more pressing needs such as the offensive line and tight end.
As we all know, Manning has played in 211 consecutive games including the playoffs which so it’s unlikely McCown would even see the field next season.
