The Giants’ strategy that led to Rueben Randle’s breakout game

Cancel the missing-persons alert for Rueben Randle.

After spending the first two games in a mysterious deep freeze that even coach Tom Coughlin couldn’t explain, the Giants found their big wideout over and over Thursday night in a 32-21 win over the Redskins at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants were so determined to go to Randle, in fact, that he ended up their leading receiver even with Odell Beckham Jr. on the field at the same time — and Big Blue grabbed their much-needed first victory of the season.

Randle started strong and finished even stronger, hauling in seven passes for 116 yards — including a 30-yard grab in the first quarter and a 41-yard touchdown catch in the fourth — as he took full advantage of Washington’s early obsession with blanketing Beckham.
