During their conversations at UConn, Geremy Davis recalls his then-head coach, Paul Pasqualoni, frequently telling his muscular receiver he could one day make a name for himself in the NFL by emulating a certain, specific player.
“He mentioned David Tyree all the time,’’ Davis said. “It was just kind of ironic, coach Pas said, ‘You can be a David Tyree’ and now I get compared to him, it brings a smile to my face.’’
What’s not to smile about? Davis was taken by the Giants in the sixth round of the NFL draft with no illusions that he will turn into Odell Beckham Jr.
