The Giants used the No. 2 draft pick on a dynamic running back and gave their superstar wide receiver a $95-million contract. Couldn't they have found anybody else to play right tackle than Ereck Flowers?
That was an easy takeaway from the Giants 2018 season opener. For all the improvements that the Giants have made on this offense -- and that includes signing free agent left tackle Nate Solder to massive contract -- it still struggled to get out of its own way at times on Sunday afternoon in the 20-15 loss to Jacksonville.
And much of those problems started, once again, with Flowers.
