Former New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is reportedly the favorite to become the new defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Adam Schefter reports that “Spagnuolo and [Chiefs coach] Andy Reid worked together in Philadelphia, share the same agent and have a mutual respect for each other’s work.”
Spagnuolo, of course, did two stints as defensive coordinator with the Giants. The first was 2007-2008 after coming from the Philadelphia Eagles, where he worked for Reid. The second was from 2015-2017, a tenure during which he spent the final four games as interim head coach replacing the fired Ben McAdoo.
