Sterling Shepard lost a friend but gained a much healthier bank account.
The Giants and the wide receiver were finalizing a four-year, $41 million deal Wednesday, NFL Network first reported. The guaranteed money in the pact was not yet known.
Shepard will no longer play Robin to his pal Odell Beckham Jr.’s Batman after the superstar was traded to Cleveland last month. Shepard, entering his fourth season since being a second-round pick in 2016, is coming off his best season, in which he caught 66 passes for 872 yards with four touchdowns.
It’s the second Shepard the Giants committed to Wednesday, as they also brought back Russell Shepard.
