EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants are re-signing veteran cornerback Adoree' Jackson to a one-year deal, sources told ESPN on Friday.

Jackson, 28, spent the previous three seasons with the Giants. He also knows new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen from their time together with the Tennessee Titans.

But Jackson struggled with injuries (missing 14 games over three years), and his tackling came into question last season. It appeared throughout the offseason the Giants were intent on moving on from him.

The signing comes just nine days before the Giants' season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, and says a lot about how the team truly feels about its cornerback situation opposite second-year starter Deonte Banks.
